A multi-media exhibition tracing the evolution of the city from 1170 to the present day with particular emphasis on the development of the civic government.
The story is told through the display of Civic Regalia, including the Great City Sword, the Great Mace, the Lord Mayor's chain and city treasures, which are supported by computer interactives, archive films, models and costumes.
Specially commissioned works of art depict aspects of the city's history.
